Few tips for running Apache web server on Windows 7

Few things about running Apache on Windows 7

Installation will end up in some kind of permissions error and Apache service will not start automatically. Don't worry just try system restart. After restart should be service running and everything ok.

You configured something, restarted service and nothing changed? First of all, your editor must be executed with admin privileges. This can be achieved easily left mouse click on your editor execution file and selecting run as administrator command.
Second thing which brings some pain is that configuration files are locked for write when service is running. To avoid some configuration changes lose, always stop apache service before you are goeing to edit configuration files.
